My Kids In A Nutty Nutshell

A quick peek into the imagination of Hylani

Ever since Kalea was born, Hylani has taken to pretending with his auntie Eddlyn's baby dolls. Instead of getting jealous when baby sister needs me, he creates a reason that his baby is crying and takes care of her. In this case Kalea has an ear infection. So Hylani took "his very own baby", as he calls it, and tried to make her happy by playing with her. When that didn't work he tried to "kiss her owie ear". Then, she kept crying. "Hylani rock-a-bye baby, make her all better."

As adorable as that is to me, nothing beats his imagination when it comes to trains. Hylani is obsessed with trains. He loves everything about them. Especially his wooden trains gramma gave him. Now not only are his toy trains 'choo choos', but anything he can figure out how to connect is also a train. The ways he finds to make them go together are so amazing to me. I love how his brain works.








Kalea's New Trick

Okay, I do realize that the majority of things I post are things about Hylani, seems like I'm neglecting Kalea. Not at all, it's just the little stinker never does any of her tricks while I have a camera handy. She's clapped, said "yay", and stood holding on to something for quite a while. Did she continue after I grabbed my camera from the other room? Of course not. But I do try, and in my attempts I managed to catch her newest trick. It's not as entertaining as the feats Hylani displays through out the day, but it's memorable none the less. She is attempting to crawl like a big girl, and not scoot around like a blob. This is one of the first times she tried this. The look on her face says she's been doing this for ages.

Now we're back to Hylani. While I was taking the above picture of Kalea, and was all excited about what she was doing, I hear "Mommy! Look at me! Look what Hylani can do!"



Aside from his new found love for contorting his body, he's also discovered he's a ducky.
