The Adorable Things My Little Man Does

I have no pictures to go with this post, but here is a recount of an amusing event.

There was a lightning storm last night. I was out with my friend from my home town, so the in laws were taking care of Hylani. I guess he was excited by the lights in the sky. So they of course explained that it was called 'lightning'. The next words out of his mouth were 'Lightning McQueen?' from the Pixar movie Cars. So we got home and I gave him a hug and asked him how his night was. And the lightning struck. He ran around the house screaming 'Look!! MaMa!! Lightning McQueen! There, in the sky!!!' We took him on a walk later to get him drowsy enough to sleep and it started to thunder. He got scared so I started laughing after every boom, and saying how silly it was. He heard one, and for some reason thought it sounded like a toot, because right afterward he laughed and said "Silly sky, farted boom!'.

Also, one of his new accomplishments. Aside from going on the potty every time he needs to now, so he's to the point of wearing the same diaper all day long with no accidents, he can now lock the bathroom door. And unlock it again. Unfortunately we discovered this afternoon that his locking unlocking skills apply to the front door, when he attempted to follow us to the store.

Every little thing he does is so incredible to me, because he is just growing up way too fast. I adore this little midget.
