A Holiday To Remember

A Christmas Tale

These pictures are very late, but better late then never.

Hylani was very excited to experience Christmas and New Years this time around. Previous years he got excited by the various aspects, such as presents, songs, and eating the boxes and wrapping paper when he was a baby. This year it was different for him. We explained that Santa brings us lots of presents on Christmas morning, and he puts them under the tree. And that he has to wait to open the presents, which shockingly enough, he actually did wait. Kalea is at the stage that Hylani was his first Christmas, so it was all wrapping paper and boxes for her. But I cannot wait until she can enjoy it to the full extent.

Hylani was a little terrified of Santa, until some one told him to do "high five". That made him a little more comfortable.

Coming up the stairs Christmas morning to see the presents Santa left for him.

And it begins.

Kalea even got into the spirit.

I guess the thrill of wrapping paper mountain never gets old.

Though I did receive some amazing presents this year, the best ones of all were the faces my boy made when he opened one of his. The look of wonder and excitement were all so much more important to me then any material object I was gifted.

Ringing In The New Year

I've already been informed that the new year is going to hold a lot for my little family and I. Bo's getting a new job, and we're getting some low income apartments here in the next four months. Instead of a resolution this year, like learning a new instrument, or cutting dairy out of my diet, I just decided to be different. If something that would normally hurt me comes up, just allow myself to react differently. It's hard to explain. I'm on a huge anti-depression diet I guess is a good way of putting it. And the best way to accomplish my goal is to change the way I perceive things.
That having been said, Hylani's goal was to party the night away New Years, and he did. These are just a few of the millions of moments that were captured that night.

Kalea is already unsure of this whole popping noisy night. Surprisingly enough, she barely reacted when the clock struck 12. She just observed with this creepy calm look on her face.

Hylani had no problems with the noise. Which is a lot different then the previous two years. I had to rush him into the back room before we got to midnight, because the few premature party poppers terrified him into hysteria. This year he was all about enjoying the noise, as well as contributing to it.

All in all, a fantastic experience, a wonderful year, and a positive out look on the year to come.

  2. It looks like loads of fun! I am in love with the picture of Kalea in front of the tree, super sweet. I'm glad to see another post from you--I've been neglecting facebook something terrible.

I love your plan on this year's outlook. Perception...that's a good way of putting it, I like it. ((hugs))
